Lessons are perfect for those who would like to learn to kayak safely in Saskatchewan.
There are 2 levels of lessons for the entry level experience, both consist of 2.5 hours Level 1A teaches all the strokes and Level 1B demonstrates rescues necessary to make your kayaking experience safe and tons of fun.    Lessons are held at Wascana Lake in Regina.

Price per person $70 plus rental - Kayak rental is $25 and includes all gear

Limit of 6 paddlers per lesson - choose from one of the following dates:

Sea Kayaking 101

NEW DATE Saturday June 20th 2009

A comprehensive course involving strokes, rescues, and the safety aspects of kayaking. This all day course is suited for beginner and intermediate paddlers. This course covers everything you need to know to paddle safely in large bodies of water. This course runs from 10-4pm at Wascana Lake in Regina

Price does not include rental

Cost $125 plus rental


Sea Kayaking 101

Saturday June 27th

A comprehensive course involving strokes, rescues, and the safety aspects of kayaking. This all day course is suited for beginner and intermediate paddlers. This course covers everything you need to know to paddle safely in large bodies of water. This course runs from 9-3pm at Regina Beach with a lunch break.

Price does not include rental

Cost $125 plus rental

 

Learn to Roll 102

Saturday June 27th

Always wanted to roll your kayak, this is the course for you. Participants will first practice and learn all the different rescues including self-rescue, then be prepared to get wet. Participants are encouraged to wear a wetsuit, paddling top, and have neoprene booties. Nose plugs are also highly recommended. If you are bringing your own whitewater or touring kayak, a neoprene spray skirt is a must. We will cover both the screw roll and the short and long pallotta roll. This course runs from 3-6pm at Regina Beach

Intro to Sea Kayaking

Learn to paddle the open waters of Last Mountain Lake. This overnight trip is the perfect tuneup for a longer adventure in your future. You will receive instruction in paddling and rescue techniques. Our expert guides will show you how to properly equip and pack your boat for an open water experience.

Sea Kayak Trip

Learn paddling skills on the open waters of Otter Lake. Learn navigation skills as you paddle from island to island searching for just the right spot to set camp. This 4 day 3 night course is both instructional and fun, perfect for those wanting to learn sea kayaking skills.

Canoe Courses in and around Regina



Paddling Canada Introduction to Canoe Tandem

May 30th 2009

This certification course is a great introduction to canoeing. This course covers general canoe knowledge, canoeing equipment, and the basic stokes to maneuver your canoe. This course starts at Wascana Marina in Regina, 9am Saturday morning, and continues in the afternoon until 5 at which time we head to the U of R pool to complete the safety and rescue portion of the course. A lunch and snack break are provided.

This course is for canoe enthusiasts, teachers, leaders, or aspiring guides to start the process of learning all about the proper practices of canoeing.

To register please come in to Fresh Air Experience in Regina to fill out the registration form, the Paddling Canada waiver, and pay the registration fee in full. If you need the forms faxed, please call us at 522-6665. Canoe rentals are available at $40 per day, $25 each additional day.

Paddling Canada Lake Canoe Introduction Tandem

May 31st, 2009

This certification course reviews the information from the Intro to Canoe Tandem course then expands on the maneuvers and adds new strokes. In order to do well in this course, you will need a good understanding of the impact of canoe strokes on the canoe and the forces envolved.

Introduction to Canoe Tandem is a prerequisite for this course.

To register please come in to Fresh Air Experience in Regina to fill out the registration form, the Paddle Canada  waiver, and pay the registration fee in full. If you need the forms faxed, please call us at 522-6665.

Moving Water Canoe Courses

These courses, also known as white water courses, will be taught out of Missinippi, SK just North of La Ronge in the warmest friendliest white water around. More more specific details of what each course entails, please go to www.paddlingcanada.com

Moving Water Level 1 Solo - July 17-19th $475 per person

Weeknight Canoe Lessons

Lessons perfect for those who would like to learn to canoe better.    Sure everyone says they know how, but we guarantee you there is always room for improvement.    This course covers the basic and intermediate paddling strokes and rescues necessary for those canoeists interested in canoe tripping and whitewater.

Certification Tripping Courses

Paddle Canada Canoe Tripping Level 1

July 20-22nd 2009

Candidates must have some canoeing skills. This course involves a 3 day 2 night canoe trip on the Churchill River. Some of the skills learned will be food prep, travel techniques, environmental concerns, camping skills, trip planning, and risk management. This course is tons of fun and required for anyone interested in guiding or currently takes groups out canoe tripping.

This course runs Friday morning until Sunday afternoon.

Base Price $475

Demo Nights Regina

Starting Wednesday May 2nd Fresh Air will be down at the Wascana Marina every Wednesday with canoes and kayaks available to test paddle. We will be there from 5:30 till 7:00 pm. A selection of PFD's and paddles will be available as well. If you would like to try a specific boat, then please call or email the store the Tuesday prior so we can accommodate you. Demo's will be cancelled due to high winds or rain, so please check the store Wednesday prior to 5:30pm for the latest details.
