Sea Kayaking 101 |

A comprehensive course involving strokes, rescues, and the safety aspects of kayaking. This all day course is suited for beginner and intermediate paddlers. This course covers everything you need to know to paddle safely in large bodies of water. This course runs from 10-4pm at Wascana Lake in Regina with a lunch break. |

Learn to Roll 102 |

Always wanted to roll your kayak, this is the course for you. Participants will first practice and learn all the different rescues including self-rescue, then be prepared to get wet. Participants are encouraged to wear a wetsuit, paddling top, and have neoprene booties. Nose plugs are also highly recommended. If you are bringing your own whitewater or touring kayak, a neoprene spray skirt is a must. We will cover both the screw roll and the short and long pallotta roll. This course runs from 3-6pm at Regina Beach |

Paddling Canada Basic Canoe Skills Tandem |

This certification course is a great introduction to canoeing. This course covers general canoe knowledge, canoeing equipment, and the basic stokes to maneuver your canoe. This course starts at Wascana Marina in Regina, 9am Saturday morning, and continues in the afternoon until 5 at which time we head to the U of R pool to complete the safety and rescue portion of the course. A lunch and snack break are provided. This course is for canoe enthusiasts, teachers, leaders, or aspiring guides to start the process of learning all about the proper practices of canoeing. To register please come in to Fresh Air Experience in Regina to fill out the registration form, the Paddling Canada waiver, and pay the registration fee in full. If you need the forms faxed, please call us at 522-6665. Canoe rentals are available at $40 per day, $25 each additional day. |

This certification course reviews the information from the Waterfront Tandem course then expands on the maneuvers and adds new strokes. In order to do well in this course, you will need a good understanding of the impact of canoe strokes on the canoe and the forces involved. Waterfront Canoe Skills Tandem is a prerequisite for this course. To register please come in to Fresh Air Experience in Regina to fill out the registration form, the Paddle Canada waiver, and pay the registration fee in full. This course covers the basic and intermediate paddling strokes and rescues necessary for those canoeists interested in canoe tripping and whitewater. |

Paddle Canada Canoe Tripping Introduction |

Candidates must have some canoeing skills. This course involves a 3 day 2 night canoe trip on the Churchill River. Some of the skills learned will be food prep, travel techniques, environmental concerns, camping skills, trip planning, and risk management. This course is tons of fun and required for anyone interested in guiding or currently takes groups out canoe tripping. |

Starting Wednesday May 2nd Fresh Air will be down at the
Wascana Marina every Wednesday with canoes and kayaks available to test paddle.
We will be there from 5:30 till 7:00 pm. A selection of PFD's and paddles will
be available as well. If you would like to try a specific boat, then please call
or email the store the Tuesday prior so we can accommodate you. Demo's will be
cancelled due to high winds or rain, so please check the store Wednesday prior
to 5:30pm for the latest details.
