STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

STEP 1
Add one garment into the washing machine. Avoid overfilling your drum, technical garments need to move freely to make the most of both mechanical and chemical cleaning.

STEP 2
Pour 75ml of Storm wash into the detergent compartment & if re-proofing add 75ml of Storm Down Proofer into the conditioning compartment.

STEP 3
Set your machine to a 30 degree synthetic low spin cycle or a technical sport garment setting if available.

STEP 4
Follow garment care instructions for drying. Hang to drip dry for at least 20 minutes before tumble drying.

STEP 5
Heat by tumble drying a low heat setting according to the care label, removing the garment perodically to agitate the baffels to spread the down evenly. Tip: add Storm Down Balls to maximize loft.

FAQ'S

Why should I use a Down Wash & Proof?
Unlike household detergents, Storm Down Wash is specially formulated to avoid stripping out any of the natural oils in the down when cleaning. A proofer is needed to ensure long lasting performance. Wet down is worse that no down, proofing restores the DWR (durable water repellency) finish to your garments.

Can I wash & proof my garments in one wash cycle?
Absolutely, with Storm’s easy care system the clean and proof work at separate times in the wash cycle. It is impossible to have both wash and proof in one bottle. When using Storm wash & proof, pour the wash solution into the detergent compartment & pour the proof solution into the conditioner compartment of your washing machine. For best results clean out the detergent compartments before putting the wash and proof in.

Do I need to tumble dry?
For best results, we recommend tumble drying as our DWR treatment is heat activated. However, if not available hang by a radiator or in a warm boiler room.

Why are Storm bottles smaller than other providers?
Storm wash and proof is a higher concentrated solution. We use less water in our product, reducing environmental impact without reducing performance.
